Upon their return to India, the veterans expressed relief and gratitude, attributing their release to PM Modi’s personal involvement in raising their case with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani. They underscored that their freedom wouldn’t have been possible without PM Modi’s relentless efforts at the highest diplomatic levels.

As they landed at Delhi airport, the freed navy officers jubilantly chanted ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, showcasing their patriotism and happiness at reuniting with their families. They credited PM Modi’s intervention for their freedom, expressing heartfelt appreciation for his efforts.

One of the freed navy veterans commended the Centre’s role in securing their release, highlighting PM Modi’s personal intervention. He expressed gratitude to both PM Modi and the Emir of Qatar for their support during the ordeal.

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced the release of the navy personnel, affirming the government’s commitment to their safe return. The MEA hailed Qatar’s decision to release the Indian nationals and reiterated India’s continuous support for them.

The successful resolution of this ordeal underscores the significance of diplomatic engagement and international relationships in safeguarding the interests of Indian citizens abroad. PM Modi’s recent meeting with Qatar’s Emir at the COP28 conference further highlighted bilateral collaboration and concern for the Indian community in Qatar.

Despite their release, the MEA emphasized the need for ongoing legal procedures and reiterated India’s commitment to providing consular and legal assistance to the veterans. The MEA’s legal team continues to monitor developments closely, awaiting the complete verdict.

The release of the Indian navy veterans from Qatar marks a moment of triumph, made possible by PM Modi’s proactive intervention and diplomatic efforts. Their return home is not only a testament to the government’s dedication but also a reminder of the importance of international collaboration in safeguarding Indian citizens overseas.
